Point of Ayr lighthouse stands on the beach near Talacre. Built in 1776, and inactive since 1883, this brick tower of 18 metres is surrounded by water at high tide.
This was taken as an HDR image and processed in Photomatix. I then converted it to black and white and increased the contrast using a curves adjustment layer. A bit of dodging and burning was done in photoshop as well.

@abhiomkar. Thanks for the comment. Yes the picture was taken in colour then converted to B&W in post. I prefer the B&W version as it's an HDR image and looks more dramatic this way.

Great B&W shot. I agree that B&W works very well for this particular shot. Creates a vintage mood with a lot of history.
