1980 MeDistilled water for contact lens steaming unit. Steaming unit for contact lenses. Coiled flash cord. My scar from the bicycling accident I had while riding with my girlfriend Lisa Salisbury at Bowling Green. I believe this is one of those little calendars from State Farm Insurance. This is about as long as my hair gets anymore... I very likely got a haircut shortly after this was taken. My best DrJoanne imitation! I want to say now that I categorically disavow any responsibility for this! hahahahaha frame? That's the window... it was on hinges and swung open. ![]() ![]() I had planned on scanning this this week and posting it anyway, but since Ingrid seems to have started something...

I'm not certain when this was taken, but I believe it was while I was home on break in either 1980 or very early 1981. This is the bedroom I slept in from the time I was an infant until I was about 15. (The room I moved into after that was converted into a studio, of sorts, for my dad's painting hobby once he retired from Coca-Cola.) My hand in the lower right corner is holding an on-camera flash that I was holding off-camera (note the cord) and bouncing off the ceiling, The pencil was for recording my findings (flash distance from ceiling, f-stop, etc...). NB: I wasn't nude! Just seeing that window behind me reminds me of many things... My parents had a huge fan (and I mean huge! I think it was an industrial exhaust variety!) in their bedroom that they turned on during the hot days of summer. With only a couple of windows open in the house (to maximize the draft), the curtains would be pulled away from the window so that they'd hang at about twenty degree tilt all night long. Some nights, it got downright cold! I also recall one my worst nightmares as a kid... a very wicked witch made her way in through this window and I (in the dream) went into the kitchen where my parents were playing cards with friends (likely on a night when they did have friends over) and hid in the corner behind the table where they were playing cards.
