Pigeon Point / Sky Whale...

Newer Older

Some people viewing 'beacon' were asking for a wider shot, so here it is :)

Pigeon Point Lighthouse @ sunset. The crowd are gathering for the annual relighting of the first order Fresnel lens.

Thanks to the author/s of Digital Photography School for featuring this shot in the "Photographing Coastlines" article.

See the colour really pop as: 'Pigeon Point' On Black

FYI - 'beacon' is not a crop taken from 'Pigeon Point'. They are entirely different photos :)

Your work is extraordinary. To add to that, I love lighthouses, which even makes it more spectacular. Thank you.

I saw this shot was included on an external website a few days ago, which skyrocketed the number of visits. Thanks to all the new recent visitors for stopping by and even more to those who took the time to say something or vote with a fave.

This photo is an excellent example of how much of photography is about being in the right place at the right time. Knowing the art to help you find those right times is a big part of getting better at landscape work. Just wish I had more time to get out and do it more myself :)

I agree it is rare , breath taking, amazing and a bit erie!!!!!!!!!!! But my fellow nature lovers , sadly this sky is not a natural sky. this is the effects of what they call "CHEM-TRAILS".
