Opportunistic Gulls

Scoters (Sea-Ducks) Came onto 2nd Beach
Something was clearly not right when Surf Scoters turned up on the beaches of Olympic National Park. Not able to move well on land to begin with, the ducks appeared listless and lathargic.

On Friday, September 11th, despite a beautiful day, the surf at Rialto Beach was much higher than usual thanks to an intense low pressure center well off shore and extremely high pressure over the northwest coast.
