British Columbia Highland Games Tenor DrummerPhoto by Weatherly_S ![]() ![]() The tenor drummer is the only true "visual" action in a pipe band competition. The role has evolved...20 years ago or so, they only did "flourishing", but today, they are rhythmically critical as well as providing some visual depth for the pipe band, who stands in a circle facing each other playing without much movement while judges circle around behind them, listening and watching.

Pipe Band competitions are a lot like sports teams...except we practice all year long. Our band practices twice a week for most of the year. Commentsdrummermaui says:This is a great shot! please add it to Swinging tenor drummers
