Been lusting after one of these for quite some time now, years it seems, what am I saying?! Its been years. They are always heard, their voices sound like a creaking garden door, I can see them from afar, but not ever this close. The refuge is completely depleted of raptors, seen warblers, finches, sparrows and the like, but not even one single raptor, not counting the one I saw sitting in a tree 1/2 mile away haha. I just need to accept that they aren't there and move on. This is an 80% crop :)
I wish I didn't suck so bad at cloning, otherwise I would have cloned out the 2 cattails on either side of the bird... but I suck at cloning ;)~

This photo is from my backyard, wish I had just a couple more stops of light to increase DoF and he would have been sharper, he was very close as they are building a nest under my upper deck

Found this while cleaning out cards lol.

I never really had a knack for landscape photography but every now and again I dare to venture out and try it. I got lucky a few times and produced some decent images, just nothing that I would consider, "ooohhh ahhhhh" photos.
It's no different with this one, the light was pretty flat and subdued, no clouds in the sky that could have brought in a bit more interest, so I decided to find a spot that can give the photo some form of interest throughout the landscape perhaps and while I like the snow and trees in the background, the little river and green valley in the middle and then the mountain, I still think this photo is kind of blah. Maybe it's the post processing. I like it a lot better in bw which I converted to below :)
