Cuscuta tasmanica (Golden Dodder) growing on the edge of Calverts Lagoon, South Arm, Tasmania. This species predominately parasitizes Wilsonia backhousei which is the dark green mat growing on the upper shore of the lagoon. It's interesting to note the apparent growth ring of the parasitic dodder out into the dark green Wilsonia. Also note the colour difference within the parasite ring. The Wilsonia is very thinned out and other plant species grow in much higher numbers in these areas. Interesting effect.
