Hostess with the Mostess

I love to cook and bake, but not when it involves rushing, I like to take my time and get into the details. I also love having dinner parties and being a hostess.
Today I’m having several of my friends over and I’m in cook mode. I did an interview for Hostess with the Mostess magazine and I made the cover. W00T! Okay I MADE the magazine cover, even the barcode is mine, the stories inside are fake, but today’s event is real.

Walking to-do list

I have a very busy weekend and a long to-do list; you can read all about it on my shirt. I saw a similar photo on flickr, thought it was cute and gave it a try.

Gym Rat

Exercise is too a sport and I'm not really a gym rat.
So I haven’t taken any outside photos this week because I’m using my lunch hour to work out instead.
This was taken after my workout. The headphones dangling around my neck became entangled in my necklace, so that’s the way it stayed for the 2nd half of my workout.
My workout is simple…to warm up, I run for 1 mile at 4.7 mph, then I do 10 sets of 10 or 100 leg presses (65 lbs) and then maybe, I use the lateral/row machine for my arms, (biceps, triceps, shoulders and back).
Then I get back on the treadmill, I run at 7.4 (yep) for 1 or 2 minutes, then walk, then run again at the same speed, and then walk.
Then I crawl to the shower and clean myself up.
Here’s a photo taken right before I almost got busted taking a pic of myself.
Try explaining to someone why you take pictures of yourself. It seems so wrong, but I’m doing it. For now.

Breaking News

We interrupt this photostream to bring you breaking news of a photographer last seen early this morning installing ….a PCI modem.
Contrary to popular belief, these cards are not extinct. There are still people out there who use dial-up to access the Internet.
The hardware was stolen from another computer and installed in a different model with the hopes that Windows would supply the drivers. Not. Update driver was a no-go. We were told that the photographer was also seen pulling out her hair in clumps at the thought of being defeated by a computer. No CD whatsoever and driver manager was unable to report back the name of the manufactured card.
Despite the challenges, we were told that there is a happy ending to this story. The photographer was able to open up the computer, remove the modem – wasn’t grounded and didn’t care – and read the name of the manufacturer on the card. She did a search on the Internet (her lab is cable ready), found what she thought would be a suitable driver and said a prayer. We are happy to report that all systems are a go.

Woman Bowler

My other favorite sport is bowling. I am not humble on the lanes. That’s a 16lb ball right there, that’s nothing to sneeze at. My high game is a 289, just a frame and a spare away from a perfect game. I used to bowl every Monday night from 9pm -12am with a bunch of guys. I haven’t bowled in months, unless Wii bowling counts for something.
and what the heck and I smiling at at 6 something in the morning. fake. fake. fake. and i think i had my afternoon workout this morning swinging that ball for umpteen shots.
