Surrealistic diver

Surrealistic diver

This diver is a part of the group of figures above the entrance to the Teatro-Museo Dalí in Figueres, Spain. The Dalí Theatre-Museum, the largest surrealistic object in the world, occupies the building of the former Municipal Theatre, a 19th century construction which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. On its ruins, Dalí decided to create his museum.

The Monday Faces

The Monday Faces

This cheerful couple own and run a very good fruit, vegetable and flower shop in the pedestrian precinct in town. The shop has an open front (no doors or windows) and the staff are exposed to the weather all year round. But they are always cheerful, loudly encouraging people to come and buy something.

Stations of the Cross - #7

Stations of the Cross - #7

Jesus falls the second time.

The reliefs were made by the brothers Albermann from Cologne (Köln) in 1905. The stone used was Belgian limestone. Amazingly, the sculptures were only minimally damaged in the bombing of the church by the British Air Force in 1944.

Best viewed in full size.

Please bear with me, we are now half way through the series :-)
