I love this particular lens -- it's SUPER wide -- SUPER sharp - with minimal distortion --

See if you can find the penny in the photo -- the detail I get from any of my Mamiya lenses is just incredible -- if you saw the full scan you'd see the date on the penny :-)

So -- I was working on something this morning - and Alison was at the light table sleeving a mess of negs she's had laying around - when she says, "Hey! These aren't my negs!" -- There were 3 rolls - I think all of NYC -- stuff I shot 2 summers ago. Sweet! Except -- how the hell did I miss them? I'm one of those weird freaky people who knows when a PENCIL is missing off my desk - or - knows the whole pitching rotation of the '68 Detroit Tigers and all their ERA's -- I have a photographic memory -- literally -- so -- 3 rolls -- 3 rolls I completely forgot about - I must be getting old and senile...

Oh -- in case I forgot to say it Happy Fourth of July!!

Contax T3 - the one - the only

Did you think I'd miss out on Camera Porn Friday? No way! Even though I know most of my America friends have the day off -- and gearing up for the big day tomorrow. I was reading that we're only 11 Trillion in debt -- the last time our country was debt free was 1834-1835 (coincidentally, also when the Cub's last won the Series!) So - live it up! It can't get much worse! Deficits Do Matter!!

As for the camera you see here - the indisputable King of P&S cameras -- The Contax T3. Nothing comes close -- don't you listen to all the wannabees out there -- they go on about how the T2 is just as good -- or the Yashica something or another -- HOGWASH --- The T3 is by far the one camera I would take with me if I was FORCED to take just ONE camera. The camera is a dream to use - the meter is always spot on -- the lens is heaven-sent -- and just look at it -- sleek and pretty -- just the way I love my cameras --- ahhhh -- yes -- it's love :-)

I bought this one new -- and I have another I bought from someone that ran just 5 rolls through and went digital -- imagine that... silly fool... :-)

Oh -- lest I forget -- to all my fellow Americans - HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

PS -- if you have iTunes -- just type AMERICA into your search bar -- and take a listen to all the songs you find... I have 53 songs that pop up under that search...
