i love this triptych -- from our first trip up north together...

Brother Louie

He's a character, for sure. He even offered to take the whole family for a ride! "There's room for all of you in the backseat!!" -- and he's right - there is -- and I may take him up on his offer...

I sent the Makina back to Nippon PhotoClinic in NYC. When I got the camera back from overhaul, I quickly shot a roll through (the images of Mae on the porch with her dolly) - and I noticed my horizontals were tilted -- which didn't concern me too much because I'm a notorious tilter -- but what I was seeing on the negs was more than usual.

So -- I shot another roll (this one with the car and Louie - and a few sides of buildings with very level horizontals) -- I used the tripod for some shots and handheld for the rest -- but I was very careful to make sure my framelines were squared up properly. I've been using a rangefinder since my teens -- so I can get a nice level photo when I want :-)

When the negs came out of the wash I knew right away there was an issue with the projected framelines... (if i open the scans in PS and rotate clockwise 2-3 degrees, the image looks just the way it should - nice and level)...

Oh well -- Nippon was fast to reply and tell me to send it back for adjustment. They do great work -- but I was just getting my groove on with the Makina :-) -- hopefully, I'll have it back in two weeks or so...

While I was taking the previous photos, I noticed someone walking toward me. I didn't know what to expect - he seemed a little upset I was near his car (can't say I blame him) -- but his face lit up when I said, "Damn nice Deuce & a Quarter" -- he said he hadn't heard that phrase in a very long time...

Anyway -- We had a nice long chat, and I have one more photo of Louie I'll share and maybe a little something from our chat together...

I'm wicked tired. I volunteer at Mae's school on Wednesday's -- followed by a play date at our house for Mae and her best friend -- and -- Alison is working late every night this week -- not to mention I get up at 5AM to workout -- yeah, I'm doggin' it right now...

Sack time is in order...
