Juki

Knee lift for the presser food, I heart this.
Note lack of fidgety things, this machine only goes forward or backward.
This is all part of the removable work surface.
More of the removable work surface.
This rocks. I am so green with envy.
nice amy butler. I hadn't seen this colourway yet.
Thanks, it's back in stock here at Reprodepot. I really love this fabric.

Thanks, it's actually in our dining room. I mean, I don't sew in the dining room, I was just using the wall for some contrast.

sommerdesigns - note that it also isn't plugged in, hee hee. I brought it into another room to take the photograph against the orange wall.

whoa.. knee lift! I want that! How much does it weigh? My mom's old singer from late 70s early 80s weighs practically 20 lbs!

I had that knee-thingy on my old Singer too. I liked it so much better than the foot pedal I now have on my newer, fancier Bernina. And that extended work area is SWEET!

(Did you mention these in the notes? 'Cause I can't see them.)

Seeing this JUKI machine reminded me of Terese Agnew's incredible quilt, Portrait of a Textile Worker, made out of thousands of clothing labels. If you haven't seen it, check it out at this link: whipup.net/2006/07/08/5-ways-this-quilt-can-c hange-your-life
