Our Maidenhair Fern was dead by the time we got home. Sniff, goodbye little fern, I'm sorry I couldn't keep you alive.

I suspect it just got too hot in the house as the soil didn't seem overly dry. I think the really warm day was after you came around, and if so the upstairs gets warm enough to feel like an oven. So, not your fault at all. We're trying to nurse it back to health, but if not I'll invest in a new fern and one of those cute self watering pots.

I used to have a maidenhair fern that I killed repeatedly, but it kept coming back for more. I finally gave it to my grandpa, who I knew could give it the good home it deserved. Now it's a monstrous beast of a plant. He has the touch, those suckers are hard to care for.

Lu Dandy - Good to know. I'll be interested to see if this one pulls through as the leaves are curled and dry but not all brown. Otherwise I'll just replace it and tell Scott the old one went to grow on a farm :)

I've never been able to successfully keep a maidenhair fern alive, so I salute your efforts and send sympathy.
