The hooks for kitchen towels and pot holders, and paper towels are convenient across from both the stove and the sink. Also, the trash bin is close enough to the sink to make tossing wadded napkins really simple. What looks like an island is bound on either side by short sections of wall, and the one on the left really does get in the way. When you pull something out of the oven you cannot just turn around and put it down because you turn and, bam, there is the wall. However, those two bits of wall are the current support for the roof beam, and it'll be some time before we can afford to resupport the roof beam and take down that wall to open up the kitchen a bit more. When it does happen I think we'll use the room to create more counter space. Maybe move the range and oven over to a longer island. This was made using an amazing little application: HGTV's Floor Planner. CommentsOcean Aqua [deleted] says:SMART, smart, smart! Will you help me with my
