I was up North this past weekend, and one of the things we always do there is go to the shooting range. My brother-in-law is a really good shot with his 9mm, so I proposed that I would hold a clay pigeon up, and he would shoot it out of my hand. At first he didn't want to do it, but I said I had just watched him hit the pigeon 7 times out of 10, and I thought those were pretty good odds. He consented.
So, I set up my camera for rapid fire, and put it on my tripod. As I stood 20 feet down range, his brother held the camera trigger down and Carl shot the clay.
In hind sight, this might have been a little foolish, but I liked how the picture came out at the moment of impact, so it was all worth it. I made a diptych out of the last frame before impact so you could see that his target was actually quite large, and thus, I was never in too much danger.
I still have all of my fingers, although they did sting for a bit afterward. I tried to have my "calm" face on, but that's as close as I could get. If I had a faster camera, it would have been cool to see the bullet.
