St Genevieve, Fornham St Genevieve, Suffolk

A secluded and little-known ruined church on the stark heathland near Culford. The church was destroyed by fire in 1782, and was derelicted in 1813, by which time the parish had been made a joint one with Fornham All Saints.

The tower stands beside Fornham Hall, on private land, and has been unapproachable for years. However, recently the hall was sold, and is being converted into luxury flats. The site has been cleared in recent months, and a pile of rescued 18th century gravestones lies on pallets beside the site.
