St Mary, Newbourne, Suffolk
A pretty church in an interesting village on the Felixstowe peninsula. In common with several other Suffolk churches, it was devastated by the great storm of October 16th, 1987. The wind blew open the south door, and then blew out the east wall with its large window.
When the church was rebuilt, a fragment of glass bearing the unbroken face of Christ was found in the rubble. It has been incorporated into the replacement window.
George Page, the Suffolk Giant, is buried in the graveyard.
