** Ganga-Sagar is one of the many islands where the river the Holy River, Ganga (Ganges) meets the Bay of Bengal. The water there is a mix of the muddy Ganges and the blue Bay. Fishermen say that it takes around 40 kilometers into the sea for the two waters to mix thoroughly.

Ganga-Sagar is considered to be a Holy Place by the Hindus.

* Pilgrims offer flowers, besides many others, to the meeting place of the two waters.
