"Joseph - sit on the chair so we can see your leg straps. That's a good.. eh.. girl..." - guliolopez
"You two. You're our scruffy sheperds. You stand over there..." - guliolopez
"Angel! Get up on the chair at the back..." - guliolopez
"Hmm. I like the costume Phillipa. We'll make you Herod's wife or a wise-man or something. Don't worry" - guliolopez
"OK Jeannie - well done. You'll make a fine innkeeper's wife. Stand over there..." - guliolopez
"I don't know what you're supposed to be Bridget. You can stand in the picture, but take this note home to your mother. I want to speak to her first thing in the new year!!" - guliolopez
Can't help but think of Terry Jones dressed as a woman in innumerable Monty Python sketches. - turgidson
Pupils of Our Lady of Lourdes, Holy Faith school at Rosbercon, New
Ross, Co. Wexford. Looks as if they were dressed up for a Nativity
Play, but what the hell was the Wicked Witch of the West doing as part
of the cast?
Ooooh! Should have remembered! Spent Christmas in Rome a couple of years ago, and was astounded at all the witches on sale on street stalls alongside cribs, etc.
The Wicked Witch of the West, 4th from left back row, was trying to put a hex on Tall-Mary O'Hara, 3rd from left back row, to prevent her from copping the Guiness Book of Records title of the Tallest Sot in the West.
Perhaps she was one of the Wise Men, but they only had a costume left over from another play. Can't see the Catholics allowing anything secular into a Nativity Play.

Maybe it was an early multicultural pageant, and she was La Befana?

Maybe she was not the Wicket Witch of The West. Maybe she was a pagan.
