Another shot from the Cadillac Ranch just west of Amarillo, along the old Route 66, now I-40.
This shot was an afterthought actually. The moon was in the southern sky, and that's the direction the camera is looking here too, hence the lens flare, since I never bother to bring my lens hoods along. I hadn't shot this direction all night because the light was falling so nicely on the cars from the other side, but as I was walking the couple hundred yards or so back to the car, I turned to look, and thought of this composition. Obviously, I had to crop it quite a bit to get it to this point, but ultimately I like this composition a lot.
Night, 3/4 moon, 4 minute exposure @ ISO 200.
Like a lot of night shots, this one looks best when viewed large on black!
