ghost train

you can see the switching signals activated
ghost train by nj dodge.
revisited long exposure shot, although this time I remembered to include a train. let's just say I connected a few dots with regard to the approach here based on taking the prior shot two nights ago. - westfield, nj

Wow amazing motion blur. One of the best I've seen!!

The thing I like about your pictures is that they are always so sharp at large size (while other similar shots might be blurry or noisy when you look close up). Good job!!

Very cool, do you by any chance have a shot where the train is a bit more solid? I am wondering how that looks.

Thanks everyone. I was pretty excited about this shot.

@Grouch0 - I have this one. Same train location, but a much different approach:

Wow, great shot! How close to the train were you for this one?
Posted 41 months ago. ( permalink )

view profile

nj dodge  Pro User  says:

@AnDy631 - I would guess about 30 feet.
Posted 41 months ago. ( permalink )

view profile

AnDy631  Pro User  says:

30 feet, eh...OK. It seems closer than that, but I guess you were zoomed in then. Just from looking at the photo, it seemed like you were right next to the train when it went by.

It is excellent, and you are right it takes clicking the camera at just the right time. I only have 15 sec. exposure time max. I wish I had a camera that stayed open for a minute and even three. I would shoot alot more of these kinds of shots. Thank you for the suggestion though. I love your shot.
