I was curious if it was an infinity pool, but I don't see any hidden jets, and the pool looks decently large.

I'd love it, but I'd be curious for a picture of it while in use.

Just when I had thought I'd seen all the good photography of my dear Dallas I was going to, someone like Justin Terveen comes along and sets a new standard and blows them all clear outta the water!
Good on'ya Justin for submitting it to Digg, it paid off nicely.
Keep inspired, creative and keep having fun with it! I love seeing my beloved Dallas though your exceptional view with your camera's lenses. Thanks man!
Is there anywhere I can donate to ya, like a tip via Paypal or something? Let me know ok.
Keep having fun and giving us these fantastic photos please. :)

Is there a way to post a reply picture? There's a great pool like this one in Gothenburg, Sweden that opened on a hotel this summer. What beats this one is - the Swedish pool is totally transparent from the bottom!

The roof of your own building? Hax! Hax I say! :P

Seriously though, it must be nice to live downtown. I usually take the DART train from Richardson to the west end on saturdays to wander around the downtown area looking for things to shoot.

Do you go out looking to shoot a specific building / scene ahead of time, or just what comes to you as you wander around?

You bet... It's an exciting time to be down here...and I've definitely become accustom to the lifestyle. I haven't owned a car in nearly 4 years and couldn't be happier about it... I've been living in the area between Expo Park and the CBD for the better part of a decade now, and I can't get over how quickly things have developed...

On shooting; I've always liked to take long walks and just capture random subjects on the fly, but lately some of my mentors have suggested that I shy away from this and start trying to plan my shots. Taking their advice, I'm slowly starting to shift into this mindset and put more thought into what I'm doing... And now that I'm getting into lighting, its somewhat of an inevitability that more time will be spent on each composition..

I look forward to the change to be honest with you.. It'll make me a better photographer...and frankly, I'm sick of being harassed by the "authorities"... One homeland security threat for using a tripod was all it took to make me finally say "f*** this... i'll be inside if you need me"

mapper-montag  Pro User  says:

I've started to contemplate doing shots that are conceptualized before they're executed instead my usual 'shoot things that look interesting' mode. I think as soon as I finish with Project 365 (at the end of this month), I'm going to start planning shots. I have plenty of ideas in my head for ones, anyway, and maybe even working towards making shots for an exhibition at some point if I could find a gallery to put it in.

Anyway, it's awesome to meet someone who enjoys shooting downtown dallas as much as I do (quite possibly more!), and if you're free some saturday and want someone to shoot with, let me know.

This is similar to the pools that stick out from the Hotel in Las Vegas that have the Playboy club there. There are, I think, three suites, that have pools that stick out from the tower. I think it's amazing architecture, but even more amazing to be brave enough to go swim in one!
