Earlier this week I was invited by Jericho host Shannon to be in a shoot for his sight seeing game FoxHound. Jericho is an urban spy game that is a bit like capture the flag, but with Nerf guns and actual missions that involve pick up and drop off points. It's ridiculously fun and addicting, and it's been one of the things I look forward to every month. FoxHound is Shannon's laser tag version of Jericho, that's a bit more elaborate.
So aside from Shannon, I met up with some fellow Jericho regulars and Shannon's photographer at Portsmouth Square. There we were shown how to use the laser tag guns you see in the red bags, and went through what kind of photos they were hoping to get. Even though it wasn't a real game, it was still pretty fun and I enjoyed getting a chance to finally play with the guns I had previously heard cool things about. I can only imagine how much the real games throw a whole new spin on Jericho. Goofing off in China Town elicited the same reactions we normally get from people when running around Down Town with neon Nerf guns at night. So it was pretty awesome.
If you're in the Bay Area, I highly recommend looking into the two, which I've linked. I know FoxHound might seem kind of pricey, but all things considered, it's not badly priced at all. If you're really penny pinching though and still want to get it on the spy action, definitely check out Jericho. If you have the time, here's a great video(which I'm in BTW :D) that shows how much fun it usually is.
There was a few moments where I wasn't being photographed, so I pulled out my own camera and took a couple shots that I should have planned better. I really wish this camera could shoot faster than 1/1000 in aperture priority(if there's a way and I'm missing it please let me know). Thankfully I sort of fixed my mistakes in Aperture.
