As an aside, these signs always confuse me.
In North America anything forbidden has a
slash through it or is written out with a
"NO". To me, this reads "dogs
allowed".
Ah see, we're conditioned to the color
scheme. Round, thick red border on white
means forbidden. Dogs allowed would be a white dog on blue background
(which I don't think specifically exists, but
that's the logic).
The top sign (just forbidden, with nothing specified) means generally no
driving/riding any sorts of vehicles.
