You will need a food processor for this recipe, or a strong potato masher and strong arms. ~_^ This is one of my favorite bean burger recipes, as a veg head, I love to have some quick burgers for all those lovely cookouts in the summertime. I shall also warn you, I do not measure, these are only approximations when I make my own recipes. 3 cans of Garbanzo Beans (Chick Peas) (you may also try black beans, or lentils with this recipe, or mix with Garbanzo beans.) 8 oz. of chopped fresh baby carrots 1 - 1 1/2 cup wheat germ or Flaxseed or a mixture (or you may use bread crumbs) Handful of fresh parsley (remove stems) Couple dashes of ground black pepper 2 - 3 Tbs of fresh minced garlic 1 Tb Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I actually make my own Italian oils for salads and seasoning, half extra virgin olive oil, half aged Balsamic, then fresh minced garlic, lots of spices, including Rosemary, shake, then store in a dark cabinet for at least 2 days, then shake before using as a bread dip, salad dressing, seasoning, etc.) 1 Tb aged Balsamic Vinegar 1 Tb Tahini sauce (optional, is used in making hummus, it's crushed sesame seeds) Other spices to your liking for seasoning, I love to use a little paprika, Italian spice, thyme, basil, etc. 1 cup of any cheese (optional, soy cheese may be used) 1/2 cup of Walnuts (optional) adds a meaty taste. Place ALL ingredients in food processor, let it go until everything is well mushed and blended. Make sure you contents are firm enough to make patties, if not, just add a bit more wheat germ. I use wheat germ instead of bread crumbs for a healthier patty. I usually like to pre-make patties, freeze them (I usually make about 20-24 per week during the summer, Charlie loves taking these for his quick lunches at work), then defrost them a bit before I plan to cook them up with a little extra virgin olive oil on my griddle (usually only takes about 5-6 minutes for each side on high, about 400°, or a pan works just as lovely. I caution those that grill these, use enough oil so they do not stick, and do NOT place these on an open fire without a pan. ------------------------- Some updates before I zip off for a busy weekend... Delilah's first day from the spare office was today, she is getting more lively each day and her natural skin pigment is coming back. She's almost back to normal, she's eating and meowing and being her old little self. She still needs to gain a little more weight. As for Colette, she's not doing so well, she is still very ill, she went from a little spunk to barely anything.. *sighs* I hope she improves soon, my Mom is hand feeding her, she has been taking excellent care of Colette. I just hope it ends up to be a happy ending like it has with my Delilah. Well, the rest of the pack and pride are doing great, Sybil was missing for few days, she came home hungry and a bit thin, but, a happy kitty to see me. She continued to rub across my legs meowing and being playful. She also had a ravenous appetite..lol She also seemed happy to once again see her friend Delilah out the office and rejoined with the rest of the pride. Izzy is due to be spayed on July 18th, and my bf Charlie's Birthday will be coming up on July 21. Char's Dad's was yesterday but, we didn't have a chance to give him a proper celebration yet. We plan to do so this weekend. Well, hope you all have a great weekend! Chow kiddies! Cat =^..^= Commentsnal from miami
