2008-01-26 (Editing a paper) - 31

A bunch of shots of a paper that Riccardo and I were working on, after I'd scribbled all over it in one of my editing passes. I primarily took these so I could show my students what I do to the writing of professional co-authors so they don't feel so bad when I scribble all over their work.

A cleaned up version of this has been posted to my "real" Flickr account:

I've had quite a few people ask about using this in various contexts. If you are going to use this, please use and link to that other version. Thanks.

The pain of editing! Love the shot! Thank you! This is a great picture and perfect for our site on thesis translation. We have used your photo for one of our index pages, this one for the universities of Eastern Europe. Your photo is up at thesis-translation.aaronlanguage.com/universi ties/eastern... with your name under the picture, which then links to the list of credits at thesis-translation.aaronlanguage.com/credits/ thesis_credi.... Your name on the list of credits, in turn, links to your profile here at flickr. And thanks again for the CC license. We appreciate it.

As mentioned above, it would probably make more sense to use the cleaned up version at:

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicmcphee/275649 4307/

and I would definitely prefer you to link to that version instead of this one.

You also seem to be distorting the photo quite significantly on your web site in a way that seems odd (and certainly unnecessary).

Thanks very much for your interest in my photo!

      Hi there.
If I were your student, the minute I see this pic, I would feel much better the next time you do some scribble in my work. :-)

Hello Nic's. This photo reminds me of my Research Paper. I was so stressed but thankful I finished it. I could have taken a photo of it too. You'll see a lot of corrections.
