Retweet in beta
I'm not a huge fan of RTs (Because original content > just quoting people), but if you're going to do it, this is probably a better way since your followers now have the choice to hide/show your retweets.
The retweets show up as just regular tweets in your Twitter feed, but with that little circle arrow icon thingy. Even if you don't follow @NASA in the above example, you'll still see that message because you chose to view the retweets from that PersonYouFollow. If you're not into that, you can hide them by going to that PersonYouFollow's page and un-selecting the little circle arrow thingy.
I will say that some retweets are useful, but most of them are usually just noise. This way at least I can hide them if I don't care about them. Only caveat is that you have to hide ALL the retweets from someone instead of just some of them. Which is fine by me anyway.
PS. Also, "RT" and "via @username" adds on to the precious 140-character count. This is a way to get around that effectively.
PPS. I should also say that I've been known to retweet too, but it's pretty rare. I'm just asking for restraint, is all.

Merlin Mann / John Hodgman
Merlin and John. I call them that because I pretend we're friends.
