for the space on the right side, i do have some but i liked the slim frame too so i don't know so much what to do.

I notice the dust only now. Not so sure about what it is. It is a bit big for dust no? and it's only F5.6. Anyway i'll tell the owner of the camera :-)

the "Hanzi" aspect is cool, maybe it's because of the big black mass

Lovely portrait and cropping. When I look at the photo as something more abstract than as "just" a portrait, then the shapes and colors have a lovely balance. Even as a portrait, your close cropping works. Moreover, not that you asked for my advice, I'd say stick with your instinct. If the close-cropping makes some viewers a little, I don't know, "nervous," I'd think that's a good thing. Anyway, it works here.

@ ethernautrix : Thanks :) we made some black and white attempts and also submitted a non cropped version on a french BBS, but finally I ended up with that one, i think it had to be "nervous", or whatever :)
