A view not often seen

From a quite fancy apartment at Dagstuhl (complete with little kitchenette) nestled up high between the music room and the chapel.

This is actually an HDR composite, which was pretty vital to getting this much dynamic range.

kool: It was a cool view, and not one I'd ever seen before as I'd never been in that apartment. There were definitely advantages to being invited there as a photographer. :-) There were some other secret places I started to learn about in the last days, not all of which I managed to get to. But I'll try to file them away for later trips.

SS&DN: The architecture is quite cool. The building in the foreground in several hundred years old. On top of the hill behind us (and not in any of these photos, I'm afraid) is the ruins of the old castle, which is several hundred years older than that. The buildings in the distance here were built a few decades ago when the property was turned into a computer science research facility. The square "cloister" is mostly rooms for guests, and the round yellow central bit is the library and a few other common rooms, including the primary seminar room.
