When I need a reality check... I always come flick through your stream... your captures always leave me with tears and a greater understanding of how very lucky I am... to be in such a world - when compared to many unfortunate people who deserve much more than the world is willing to offer.

you know, it's unfair to expect a photographer to single-handedly rescue every person in distress they take a picture of. We all have to do the best we can with the abilities we were given. Otherwise, let's all abandon our lives and family as they exist, and let us move to poor, third world countries and devote our lives to these people as a pseudo-mother teresa. If one cannot bear to do this, then one should not ask the same of another.
