Cold Soba Noodles with Shrimp Tempura
- soba, nori, cucumber pickles, dashi-soy broth, wasabi, scallion
This is one of noodle lunch options at the Mitsuwa Food Court ( the other two are wildly popular ramen and Udon) from the Kayaba restaurant.
Although not by any means artisanal or hand-made, the noodles were
nicely cooked - with just a touch of a bite left. Shrimp tempura was
piping hot and ultra crispy - I am always amazed how well-made tempura
retains its texture even when dipped in soy broth. The latter had a
little too much of the fishy taste, but it went well with both noodles
and tempura nonetheless.
Overall, a delightful lunch - all for $6.90 before tax.
