it feels like forever since the last time I posted something on this site. possibly largely due to the expiration of my pro account. And I haven't felt like renewing it.
Anyway, I guess I'm back now. Got a few decent shoots lately and will take time to show them here.
oh this was also the last shoot I did with my beloved Canon 30D. Sold, and gone all the way to Singapore with its new owner now, it is. Saving for a new one. God i miss having a camera.

life on sail by Nick D.

life on sail

this was the second time I saw this old woman in Hoi An. Probably anyone who has been to Hoi An should have at least seen her once. She's always there, on her little wooden boat, selling the clay whistles for a living. Her face tells so many stories, or not? I don't know, but something just kills me everytime I see her.
You are not supposed to struggle your whole life to end up no better than this, are you?

the lost icon by Nick D.

the lost icon

the cone hat, or as some other people call, the triangle hat (though I don't think this makes any sense) is one of Viet Nam's iconic items. It represents the country's agriculture and the farmers' hardwork. There was once it was even the urban ladies' choice of protection from the blazing sun, but somehow it got lost in the economy growth and became the symbol of poverty. Now you'd hardly find anyone wearing the cone hat anymore, they only sell them as souvenirs.
