Well they look and smell like mushrooms but they have a moist greeinish layer in the centre not unlike a kiwi fruit. Fadila found them growing near her house but no-one has a clue what they are. The caps are completely spherical, about 70mm in diameter with only a tiny stalk Anyone any ideas?

The dogs were playing with it but none had the nerve to try eating it so I whisked it away before any harm came to anyone. The huge pair of "eyes" are in fact fakes to frighten predators and are on its back. It is thought that in this pose, birds confuse it with a snake and leave it alone. They are lovely when they hatch.

Ann decided to study robotics and seemingly Lego is the place to start so we bought the kit to make nXT, This came as around 4.000 separate parts and is aimed at under 8's so I think that puts my childhood toys somewhere far out in a cocked hat. So far he/she can navigate (a bit), throw coloured balls and then sort them into coloured groups. Oh, and walk around a (bit) in a manner that makes a tortoise look nimble and speedy. She has ordered several books about programming in 'C' which is where I suspect I shall bow out of the project.

Our road this morning after a Caña fire raced through last night. Looks like it was started by a cigarette and the Bomberos, Guardia Civil, Policia Local were all here within 10 minutes. Scary stuff as we were downwind and big trees were in danger of going up. Irrigation pipes were burning along under trees taking the fire quickly into the neighbours orange grove. We were emptying old Pepé's water deposit until the pros arrived.
On the plus side, I found a really nice and very expensive Lenser torch that some cop must have dropped last night.
