erm... I'm disapointed. Nothing inspiring. I agree with Jacob, they should have left it completely up to flickr.

On the other hand, speaking of Jakob and design, the new Vimeo rocks. I'm impressed. I haven't found anything to bitch about. I want to be critical but I can't. Awesome design, so clean... and they swiped a few ideas from flickr to, without being copy cats. If anyone has a shot at being the flickr of video it's Vimeo.

It's like Youtube, only better, and without being a mofo "media trap". I love love love that Vimeo is continuing to support syndicate-able and downloadable media. Flash, Win and QT formats for every video. That rocks. I'm so sick of walled gardens like Youtube. We're moving away from the sea of web pages to a sea of media. Youtube went the wrong direction and sooner or later it's going to cost them if they don't do some back peddling.

Anyway, keep it up Jacob and you may just bump of blip.tv as my new favorite video host. I think blip's still got the edge due to interoperability with cross posting, archive.org hosting, delicious tagging and such, but perhaps there just in the lead because I haven't posted a video with vimeo yet.

BTW, looking forward to seeing you all at vloggercon in San Fran on June 9th, 10th and 11th. Duncan (thelastminute) I hope you and your brother will be there two. The Nata Village vlog rocks. I was very happy to see it. We could use more exampels and more talk about using vlogs to bridge the digital divide.

Nial, I know you're not a crazy vlogger, but I hope you'll be there too. You're representing Yahoo these days right? I can't remember. Yahoo is sponsoring vloggercon and I think even presenting something or other... heh, maybe it's this. ;)

I really wanted a flickr for video but so far it just looks like another Youtube, not a place where home made videos can be looked at like we see picters on here. It's very disapointing.
