National Guard Marathon Team member James Munnis III, of Shepherdstown W.Va., runs the difficult but scenic marathon course at the Kauai Marathon, Koloa, Hawaii, Sept. 2. Munnis placed second in the 45-49 age group of the men’s full marathon with a time of 3:10:27.8. The National Guard Marathon Team members exhibit the best aspects of the military emphasis on fitness and bring positive exposure to the Army and Air National Guard organizations as the top runners from across the country compete at marathons such as the one in Kauai.
