Euphorbia amygdaloides

Euphorbia amygdaloides by ngawangchodron.
Pictured are the terminal cymes of greenish yellow cyathias and involucres.
(A Cyathia is an inflorescence consisting of a cuplike cluster of modified leaves enclosing a female flower and several male flowers
Involucres are a series of bracts in or around a flower cluster)
Mason Street, Victoria BC

This euphorbia is an excellent drought tolerant hardy plant with a lovely chartreuse colour. However one should be cautious when pruning and trimming it - always use gloves as the sticky sap is poisonous. For this reason it should probably not be planted where there are small children

Congratulations on Nov 2, 2009 UBCBG Botany Photo of the Day! I think it is this shot, as you have two others.
