A boycott is plain stupid. If you're a serious drinker and you like variety, you will still buy absolut ( they make several tastes of vodka ).

In an ABSOLUT WORLD, Mexico would have a thriving free market economy free for political corruption that would allow its citizens to prosper from the fruits fo their own labor and resources. NOT ONE COUNTRY DOMINATING THE OTHER. Mexico has great things to offer the rest of the world. Let everyone in their country benefit from free and open markets and corruption free Government.

There would be no need for a fence because people would be free to pursue their own prosperity locally and not feel forced to cross the border merely to survive and thrive.

Tourist, goods and services would flow freely across a secure and supervised border, Coruption and lawlessness would be punished on bothsides of the border equally to protect the common intersts and goodwill of both countries. We would work closely with each other to secure our hemisphere and protect each other from terrorist attack.

Then it would be true that what is good for Mexico is good for the United States and what is good for the United States is good for Mexico.

This is not a wish to dominate or control. Only a wish to prosper together for the benefit of both our population.

Boycott WHO? Vin and Spirit was owned by the Swedish Government who just sold it to Pernod Ricard SA. Pernod Ricard SA probably had nothing to do with this advertizment.

Someone should be called accountable for this outrage.

The V&S Group has absolute power -- make that Absolut power. The company is Sweden's top supplier of wine and spirits, but it is best known for its Absolut vodka, which is sold in more than 125 markets (and accounts for more than half of all imported vodka sales in the US). It is comprised of three business areas: V&S Absolut Spirits, V&S Distillers, and V&S Wine. V&S has joined Maxxium Worldwide, an international spirits distribution consortium, for distribution outside the Nordic countries and the US. In 2008 the company was autioned off to Pernod Ricard. Effective March 31, 2008.

Pernod Ricard SA, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the production, distribution, sale of spirits and wines in France and internationally. It offers whiskies, liqueurs, champagne, cognacs and brandies, white spirits and rums, bitters, and wines. The company sells its products under Ricard, Ballantine’s, Chivas Regal, Kahlua, Malibu, Beefeater, Havana Club, Martell, The Glenlivet, Jacob’s Creek, Montana, Mumm, Perrier-Jouet, Seagram’s gin, 100 Pipers, Amaro Ramazzoti, Clan Campbell, Imperial, Pastis 51, Ararat, Wild Turkey, Royal Salute, Tia Maria, Suze, Royal Stag, Ruavieja, Wyndham Estate, Powers, Campo Viejo, Hiram Walker, Passport, Becherovka, Don Pedro, Olmeca, Aberlour, Wisers, Montilla, Presidente, Soho/Dita, Pernod, Wyborowa, and Something special brand names. The company was founded in 1975 and is based in Paris, France.

After all, are you a serious drinker or a serious United States Citizen?

Be clear that this has nothing to do with Mexico or the Mexican People. This is a misguided advertisment and whoever is responsible for it deserves to suffer a big loss in revenue and market share for attempting to play to the misguided.

refinedstout: I am neither- I don't drink vodka and I am from Mexico, and Have everything I need, I don't go LOOKING for it in the US.

Although I find your first comment to the point, the second I don't agree with. People who drink will drink regardless of advertising.

The Soka:

You are right. Complacancy is the great evil here. There may be too few people that see this for what it is. They would rather drink than defend the United States. They are the enemy within. It is up to those who still care to defend this country.

Again, This is about a misguided advertisment and has little to do with Mexico. There is no desire for Mexico or Mexicans to suffer in this. Only for the Company:

Pernod Ricard SA, to get the message that this type of advertizing is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

There are plenty of Great Tequila's that Pernod Ricard SA does not own or distribute.
