Straight winter lines
I find slides perfect in some way: they need only tonal correction after development to fit taste. In all the other aspects they are either hit or miss.

Let's Forgive but not Forget
Must be viewed Large
My small thoughts concerning Velvia 50 vs. 100 (fathers and sons) eternal dispute:
Velvia 100 is better in:
- scanning. Velvia 50 could be only drum-scanned to bring full 3 levels of exposure. Velvia 100 can be successfully flatbed scanned for most non-professional uses.
- colors are mostly the same: Velvia 100 retains color characteristic of its father.
- one more speed stop which sometimes wins the round
- much better reciprocity, suitable for long exposures
- "better" qualities for portrait photograhy (comparing to Velvia 50).
- Velvia 100 is more forgiving. If you miss half-stop in Velvia 50 (which happens quite often in contrasty environment) - you wasted your time, pal.
So I feel no real need for Velvia 50. It is nice film, but it holds only "nostalgic" meaning to me.
Well, if you are the person who shoots for direct slide viewing - Velvia 50 is still №1 to go. Unless this - try Velvia 100, maybe you like me won't feel any need for Velvia 50 in practice.
