Kim

Kim

I certainly don't regard myself as a portrait photography (heck, I'm barely just a photographer), but my wife Kim asked me to take her photo for a project she is doing, so I gave it a shot. We only had a few minutes, so I grabbed a white card to bounce some fill and we headed across the street to a little park.

Anyway, this gave me a chance to try out my new Nikon 24-70 f/2.8. Man, that sucka is sharp! Even in a full body shot, I can easily see the edges of Kim's contact lenses. You get what you pay for, I guess (much sharper than my 28-300 Tamron).

Oh, and most people know Kim as being serious... but THIS is the Kim I know ; )

Here is an example of how the data combine looked at different stages. This object really is a great example of how one can blend Ha and RGB data together in various ways. Of course, the only rules are personal taste regarding what combo represents the object best. I just go for what I think represents the structure well and looks "pretty".

This is a seldom imaged nebula in Orion. I found only a small handfull of images as reference. The blue reflection nebulosity is Vdb38, while the red emission is SH-263. There are lots of other dusty dark nebulae in this field (many of which are in the LDN catalog).

2 panel mosaic, using the TEC 140 with STL-11000 camera.

HaLRGB image total exposure = 7 hrs
