    for those who speak this language: these are the apical tufts of 2 cortical layer V pyramidal cells filled with biocytin and stained with a Texas red / avidin-D conjugate, then counterstained with a green fluorescent nissl stain.

      These are *beautiful*. Were you imaging just for the structure, or is this just a gorgeous by-product of something else?

      thanks. it started as a gorgeous byproduct of something i do routinely, but i'm struck often enough by how beautiful it is that i snap a few pictures for their own benefit.
