Yellow dahlia growing along back fence...I crept up to it gingerly this evening as earlier in the afternoon I had found a little black snake sleeping out in the open close to the dahlias....

On Fire

On Fire

My newest ginger has been flowering and it looks like another blossom is developing from the centre of another part of the bush. It has been raining for days here and, after checking the weather radar, we're in for even heavier rain over the next few days....sorry I don't know its botanic name...
P.S Many thanks to LeapFrog for putting me on the right path to identify my ginger. I bought it last year at a local nursery but lost the ID tag. After some research, I have now found out that it is a hybrid as most of the gingers are these days. It is called "curcuma aurantiaca" or "Burgundy Ice".
