Funny Faced Vintage Kiddos
This is one of the craziest, coolest, funniest school photos from this era I have ever seen. Don't ever think that olden-times people didn't have a sense of humor! Just look at all the orneriness going on in this photo!
The best thing is... almost EVERYONE in this photo is identified! I will add the names below. It seems to be "Franklin Central" school...If you can give me more information, please do!
I looked up the most unusual name, "Hester Bogenschutz" on Google, and it linked to a girl born in Warren County, Ohio in 1896... daughter of Lilly (Rickerd) and John Bogenschutz.. I also found out Hester had a brother named Paul.
From there, I found a Franklin Central school in Warren County, Ohio, built 1848, and demolished in 1931. There is a picture on this website:
www.oldohioschools.com/warren_county.htm
www.oldohioschools.com/warren_county_files/Warren%20Frank...
If you look at that picture, the windows are very similar to the ones in this picture.. leading me to believe it is indeed the same school. From Hester's birthday, I'd date this photo to around 1905 - 07, and certainly no later than 1910.
Any other info out there? :P
