Big Beehive Lookout

Big Beehive Lookout by Trevor Nerbas.
Looking down on Lake Louise from the Big Beehive... it sure looked like a storm was rolling in, however it seemed to pass by.. but made for some interesting lighting :).

If you look closely on the lake, the small specks are people canoeing.

This shot was taken from the top of the "Big Beehive" than can be seen center-frame of this photo

PRINT AVAILABLE (8x12" / 12x18")

Cracking, can't believe i've not spotted your work before. Love your subtle HDR work. You'd love a contact and friend of mine phototoasty HDR he seems to take the same sympathetic yet impressive approach to rendering. Great stuff

Great shot. HDR renders most photos just a bit better than regular one exposure shots, don't you think? To me, it often seems that the HDR is really a more accurate representation of what I actually saw.

It's as if the sunbeams and shadows form an actual, substantive veil covering the mountain and trailing down to the lake. Amazing. Beautiful, too.

Clouds make it an interesting shot. I look over at Fairview mountain and it's hard to believe I went to the top of that a few years ago.

So nice! You have some really great stuff! I like how your hdr's look. I have not tried my hand at that yet so I'm not sure how much control one has over the process, but sometimes, the stuff people come up with looks really bad. Really fake. Yours don't. They really add to the image, such that it looks more like the way your brain sees it. I think you've nailed that technique! Well done. Love your Kamloops and horse images too!

Wow, great shot. I almost wish a weak storm would've rolled through when I was up there last year. Although, I couldn't get near the edge, fear of heights and all. :)

Again, fantastic shot.

awesome shot trevor! I use strobes to light my subject. I usually shoot for the sky exposed or 1 stop under, then match the exposure on the subject to match sky, usually light from the side with my strobe. 600w/s visatek monoheads with softbox. Dead simple lighting technique but great results
