Enjoy the Fresh Air

It's no wonder that there are many an abandoned sanatorium in North America. They were erected in the early 1900's primarily for the treatment of tuberculosis. The cure (prior to the discovery of antibiotics) was fresh clean air. As the antibiotics became the preferred treatment, many sanatoriums began to close. Now, they're just haunted urbex playgrounds.

The Lesson Plan He Can't Recall

The Lesson Plan He Can't Recall

The teacher stands in front of the class
But the lesson plan he can't recall
The student's eyes don't perceive the lies
Bouncing off every fucking wall
His composure is well kept
I guess he fears playing the fool
The complacent students sit and listen to some of that
Bullshit that he learned in school

Pilgrimage: The Wall

Pilgrimage: The Wall

It is said that you are not yet a man until you have conquered the Great Wall. I don't know where it came from or who said it (come to think of it, maybe it came to me in a dream) but I absolutely had to visit this place when I was in China.

Packaged tours generally take you to the closest part of the wall in Balding. I'm told it contains more tourists than views. I wasn't going to to find out on my own. I, of course, opted to take in some of the more quaint (and original pieces of the wall) in Jinshanling. It was worth the extra effort. There may have been 50 people in the entire 10-12km stretch. I was told of the legendary stories of crackheads and homeless people at this place, but all we found were 'suits'. At least they were civil about kicking us out. Press "L".
