Drawing twenty-one : Koru
A year ago the city of Christchurch in New Zealand, a place I have great affection for, was hit by a devastating earthquake. I drew my thoughts as part of 28 Drawings Later 2011 (nm.twistyfoldy.net/archives/462) and today I get to follow it up with this.
The building is Christchurch's ruined cathedral, and the spiral motif is the curled up fern shoot, or Koru, which symbolises rebirth in the Maori culture.
