The Evington Footway runs from London Road down to Kimberley Road parallel with London Road. It is thought that the footpath runs along the route of a Roman road, the Via Devana, which may or may not have ran from Colchester to Chester. There certainly seems to have been a Roman road from the middle of Leicester to Medbourne in the south of Leicestershire.
