1896 - 1946 - 2008![]() The "Szabadság híd" or Liberty Bridge in Budapest, Hungary, connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube. It is the third southernmost public road bridge in Budapest, located at the southern end of the City Centre. It was built between 1894 and 1896, and was opened in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph.
In 1945, the retreating german forces blew it up, along the other bridges across the Danube in Budapest. After this, the bridge was reconstructed in 1946. Now it's under serious renovation, and closed for the traffic. (from Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia) CommentsDörnveek Märkkstyrn
