Buchanan Street at night!
Working on some new stuff for various commissions, this is just a test shot, despite having spent quite a bit of time putting this together, total pain in the arse TBH, so many different colour casts going on! Looks acceptable, but I probably won't use it, as the image itself is pretty weak, at least now I know what angle to not shoot it from!
I really don't want to have to go down that telephoto route, that image has been taken so many times already!
Usual set up with the TS-E 24 f3.5L, bracketed at full rise and full fall fall, manually blended and stitched in PS! Call the cops............

Boo Backit Brig in Strathaven.
Those sodium lights, so hard to deal with, this was as good as I could get without destroying the image, not too bad, I'm looking for more solutions though, if anyone has good insider knowledge on how to deal with sodium lighting in night photography, I would love to hear from you!
There was a lot of complicated masks involved in getting the colour right in the various parts of the image, really complex colour casts, I'm pretty sure there is no 'one' particular fix for this, for as you correct one part, it causes a cast elsewhere!!
This is part of an ongoing local project, prints/cards/calanders will be available before the end of the year, with a view to an exhibition as well.

Powmillon burn running throughh the heart of Strathaven!
A revisit to one I shot in spring. I though it looked more interesting with leaves on the trees, it's a slightly lower angle as well, due to the branches hanging down more with the weaight of the leaves. I put a bit more effort into the retouching this time round as well.
Usual set up with the TS-E 24 f3.5L, bracketed shots at full rise and fall, then manually blended and stitched in PS, quite a few various layers involved, the PSD file is almost 1GB!!
This is part of an ongoing local project, prints/cards/calanders will be available before the end of the year, with a view to an exhibition as well.

Struggled to enjoy this to be honest! While it wasn't a bad gig, the lights were beyond contempt, barely enough light in the place to shoot, I felt like getting the flash out, but wasn't sure how that would wash with security, and they were a great deal bigger than me, although, I suspect i could have out run them lol!! Shot for the NME!
