Antony and the Johnsons live at KB in Malmö, great concert and great audience with the exception of some noise barflies including this guy

Thanks, yes, Antony was a bit tired but with a voice like that and backed up by a string/cello section you simply cant fail.

word :)
nice shot btw!

I am so envious, I can only imagine the sound of Antony's voice accompanied by a cello. You are a lucky man to hear/see him live!
i love the colours here and that man's gently lit profile.

love how the light source is in the oposite direction of the camera, gives the subjects a nice golden silhouette glow

RC I love the colors (pink, gold, beige - unusual) - and the guy's haircut that gives him a personality - and the soft, dusy lighting - and the way the guy is the same as everyone else in the picture (glowing) but different because his profile is fuller, more defined.
It's a crowd scene but with that person momentarily in focus it becomes a picture of a moment. There's one thing I wish - that I could have more of a sense of what or who that guy is interacting with. I want a moment that's more complete.

Can someone please explain the appeal behind Antony & The Johnsons - and I'm sorry, but, "he sounds just like Nina Simone" aint't good enough. If I want to hear Nina Simone guess what, I'll go put on a Nina Simone CD.
Antony - like Rufus Wainwright - is a singer songwriter of some minor talent that critics like to fawn over to prove how hip and sexually liberated they are. Plus if they're told how hip they are often enough it saves time having to listen and discover for themselves some really exciting new talent.
I know this isn't a forum to discuss music, but I'm just so sick and tired of the unthinking fawning over mid-rate talent

I second all your comments, Zorilla.

The rimlight on the blurry head at left pulls the eye out of the frame. Just cropping a little off will cure that problem. See my RC Note on that.

Zorilla, yes, it's a shame when focus is changed from the music to irrelevant things such as critics hippness factor but I don't agree with you that he's a minor talent, not with a voice and songs like that. Anyway, I'll post a less PC photo tomorrow so you can focus on the photo rather then the header.

RC Very good shot, captures the event well. I've added a note with a suggested crop - very similar to Your Guide's suggestion, but also cropping in from the top.

RC - I'm not so mad about it, love the light and the turned head yes, but almost prefer there was no information given that this was a concert. Now I'm all looking for more information, like hey where's Antony, or Ultragirls and her coke posse. Also I wish the head that is blocking him was not so much in the frame but rather further down into the lower left corner, giving us more of his profile to view. I guess I'm just looking for a bit more substance, other than nice light and nice hair.

rc- agree with x-travalueMeal#2 that the description detracts from the picture. I like it though.
Iridium's crop works well for me.

Like it.

Thanks for the comments, agree with the tighter crop.
