RALEIGH, N.C. - First Lt. Jerome Stokes, from the 887th Engineer Battalion, out of Augusta, Ga., works with his Soldiers at an urban search-and-rescue exercise Aug. 31 in Raleigh, N.C. The scenario the Soldiers worked on involved a 10,000 square-foot rubble pile used by civilian search-and-rescue teams. The Georgia National Guard Soldiers are part of a unit working side-by-side with civilian firefighters from Raleigh, Fayetteville and Cary, N.C. as part of the Vigilant Guard training exercise.
