Installing the first netsuke figure on the stand

Photos of the installation of a new display of contemporary Japanese netsuke figures in the World Cultures gallery at World Museum Liverpool.

Netsuke are intricately carved kimono sash toggles. These figures are from the Jonas Goro Gadelius collection which was kindly donated to the museum by his widow Gabita.

The figures are displayed on a purpose-built stand made by the highly skilled technical services staff.
